About The Project

The Drug Archive Philippines (drugarchive.ph) is the project of a research consortium led by the Ateneo School of Government at Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle Philippines, the University of the Philippines-Diliman and the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

The consortium supports multidisciplinary and evidence-based research on the antidrug campaign in the Philippines. When he assumed office in 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte implemented a high-profile campaign against illegal drugs that mobilized various arms of government to monitor drug addicts and rehabilitate them. He also ordered the Philippine National Police to conduct antidrug operations that have resulted in thousands of deaths

The consortium’s first project is a database of drug-related deaths. The consortium welcomes partnerships with scholars and journalists in conducting data analysis, field research, and discussions on public policy related to the campaign against illegal drugs.

We welcome contributions from the public in terms of documents, data, and other information that will provide insights into the campaign against illegal drugs in the Philippines.
